Update on the 2004 Computerized Class VI Exam
As you know, the Class VI Waterworks exam has been offered in a computerized format during 2004.
To date, the exam has been offered 4 times, and 88 operators have taken the exam. Here are some updates on the exam:
- We have over a 95% pass rate for this year!!
- Most operators that have taken the exam have used the training material and classes sponsored by the Virginia Center for Very Small Waterworks
- Comments received by operators who have taken the exam give very positive, including that they prefer the computerized exam over a paper and pencil format.
- The exam will again be offered in a computerized format in 2005!
Reimbursement Update
As of July 26 2004, 300 people have submitted reimbursement forms for their $85 license fee! That is $25,500 that has gone back to your communities!

Mark your calendars for November 15-17 and plan to be in Richmond for the 3rd offering of the
Short Course for Class VI Waterworks Operators!
This program is for operators who want to spend a short, intense amount of time preparing for the exam. The two-and-a-half-day short course will provide you with extensive information about the operation, maintenance, and administration of Class VI Waterworks. Several experts from Virginia will teach the specific subject matter contained in the "Class VI Operator's Training Manual." In addition, you will participate in a computer laboratory and take an on-line practice examination.
The cost for this class is only $79 and that includes:
- 3 nights in a hotel, single occupancy
- All meals – breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks
- All classroom training time
- All computer laboratory time
