Welcome Everyone!
My name is Rachel Pustilnik, and I am the new Class VI water systems coordinator for the Department of Health's Division of Drinking Water.  It is my goal to make training and licensing for the Class VI operators convenient, easy, and less expensive.

My first priority is to get all non-licensed Class VI operators grandparented.  You have until February 14, 2003 to get your application to DPOR for the Restricted Class VI license.  So please hurry!!!

I have many ideas to help make your lives easier when it comes to training and licensing, but I always welcome your suggestions.  Please register to be on our mailing list to receive emails when this website is updated, but you can also contact me in the office at 804-786-8861, or feel free to email me at rpustilnik@vdh.state.va.us

Thanks and I look forward to working with you!!
Not Yet Licensed?  What Are You Waiting For?
The deadline to get your application into DPOR for a Restricted Class VI license is FEBRUARY 18, 2003 at 5:00 p.m.!  Click here to visit the DPOR page to download an application http://www.state.va.us/dpor/www_form.htm.
Already Licensed?  Get Your MONEY Back!
All first-time licensed Class VI Operators are eligible for reimbursement.  We are in the final stages of determining the procedure you will need to follow.  Sign up on our mailing list to be notified when the information is available.

In the meantime, save your receipts!
Getting Licensed Is Now Easier...  Online Exams Are Coming!
We are working with DPOR to begin offering online exams in addition to the paper exams.  Online exams will be offered more often at more locations so getting licensed will never be easier.

We are in the final stages of coordinating with DPOR to set-up these exams, and we will update you when they are available!
Introducing The Training Toolbox!
We will be filling the toolbox with all the necessary tools needed to train you to pass the Class VI exam and gain continuing education credits.

Online Training
The first tool which is available now is the Operator Basics Training Series.  This is an intensive training course covering all aspects of small groundwater systems.  This resource can be be accessed for free at http://water.montana.edu/training/gwb.  Please note, we will be modifying this program to only reflect the sections that Class VI operators will need for the exam. Access to this customized training will be available online and, as requested, on CDROM.

Practice Exam
The next tool is a practice test for the online exam.  See how prepared you are for the actual test.  This optional practice can be taken at your convenience on any computer that has internet access.  The cost of the exam is $20.  We will update you when this is available.

Training Manual
The third tool available for you will be a training manual book.  This will feature all the subject areas on the exam and will have some practice questions.  We will update you when the training manual is available.

Plus many more tools...
Additionally, we plan to offer other tools such as classroom training and videoconference sessions.  More details will follow.

As you can see, whether you like to learn online, with a CDROM, from a book, or in the classroom, we will provide you with the necessary tools to become a certified Class VI operator!
