Class VI Operator News!

Welcome to the second issue of the Very Small Water Systems newsletter. Many new programs have been coming along since our last update. The information provided here will help to keep you up-to-date with the accomplishments and improvements of the Virginia Center for Very Small Water Systems

Deadline for Grandparenting Passes

The February 15, 2003 deadline to apply for a grandparented Class VI license has passed.

In order to receive a Class VI license now, you must apply to DPOR and take the examination. To receive the application, go to the following website and open the Form Name 'Package-License Application' http://www.state.va.us/dpor/www_form.htm.

DPOR has 2 more test dates remaining this year. If you need a Class VI license, sign up before the deadline to reserve your spot!

How to Prepare for the Exam NOW!

For those that need study for the Class VI exam now, here are some existing training materials:

1. Check out the 'Licensure Exam Content Area and Sample Exam Questions' page. The link can be found on our links page.

2. Purchase and study the Sacramento Manual entitled 'Small Water System Operation and Maintenance'. Many of the test questions are pulled directly from this text. The manual costs $22 and can be purchased here: www.owp.csus.edu

3. Take the online practice exam. Read more about it here.

UPDATES!

Reimbursement procedures are here! If you received a Restricted (grandparented) or Regular Class VI license, you can now have your $85 application fee reimbursed. Follow the instructions here.

Online practice exams are now available. This will help to test your knowledge of the Class VI exam material. More information is provided here
