Class VI Training Classes are Offered Now!
Several training classes are now being offered to train Class VI operators. We are trying to accommodate all different work schedules and training styles with these classes. Here is a brief overview of these courses. Click here to learn more
Class VI Operators Workshop is a video teleconference series held on the first Wednesday of each month from 11:00AM - 2:00 PM. These free classes are broadcast at 14 locations across Virginia. You are able to interact with the speaker to answer any questions you have. Bring your lunch and enjoy! Join us each month for new topics!
Virginia Rural Water Classes - VRWA sponsors these classes. Each class is held at least 3 times in different locations across the state. They last one day and cover a lot of material. All these classes are free and taught by qualified personnel.
ONLINE EXAMS IN 2004!!
It's official. We will be offering the Class VI exam in an online format in 2004. The exam will be offered six (6) different times at many locations throughout the state. Please note, the Class VI exam will not be offered in a paper and pencil format in 2004. The final details of exact dates of the exam will be determined soon. Since the online exam is still a proctored exam, it has to be taken at approved testing centers. We are finalizing the locations of these centers and will give you more details very shortly.
We are very excited about this new opportunity for Class VI operators. By having the exam offered more times per year at more locations, operators will be able to fit the exam into their busy schedules. Class VI Circuit Rider to Begin Soon!
We are in the final stages of planning the Class VI Circuit Rider Program. This program allows face-to-face training with an experienced operator to help you prepare for the exam.
Here's how the program works:
A circuit rider will contact you to set up an initial meeting. He/she will travel to your location and spend as much time as needed going over topics for the exam. They will ensure you have all the proper training tools, discuss how to fill out the application for the exam, and will also check back to se how your studying is going. This service is free and will be a great help to prepare for the exam.
Exam Update
Seven (7) people took the July 2003 Class VI exam and six (6) people passed. A total of 19 people have passed the exam and only 2 have not. This is a pass rate of 90%.
