2004 Class VI Exam!
The 2004 Class VI Exam dates and locations have been finalized!  A few highlights of this new program are listed here:
This new program is for Class VI exams ONLY.  All other exams will follow the traditional format.

The exam is now offered as a computerized test.  No paper and pencil exams will be offered in 2004.

All completed applications must still be received at DPOR no less than 60 days prior to an exam date to be eligible to sit for that exam.

Virginia Cooperative Extension will be administering the Class VI Exams.  Read below for more information.
Virginia Cooperative Extension is the Class VI Exam Administrators!
We pleased to have Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE) working as the administrators for the Class VI exam.  As stated above, all testing arrangements will be made through VCE.  Here are details about VCE:
They will offer 6 main testing districts in the following locations:
Central VA - Appomattox County/Danville
Northeast VA - Mathews County
Northern VA - Louisa County
Northwest VA - Harrisonburg
Tidewater VA - Suffolk County
Southwest VA - Abingdon

If one of these test sites is not close to you or all seats are filled, VCE will arrange with one of the 107 field offices to schedule the exam!  This means that there should be no more long commutes to take the exam.  We are very excited about this opportunity.

Exam Application and Registration Process
Here is a step-by-step overview of the application and registration process necessary for the 2004 Class VI exams:

1.  Complete the Board for Waterworks and Wastewater Works Operators LICENSE APPLICATION and EXPERIENCE VERIFICATION FORM.  Mail this to DPOR at least 60 days prior to the exam date.

2.  Once your application has been approved, DPOR will send an eligibility letter along with the Candidate Information Bulletin that explains how to register for the online exam.

3.  Once you receive the eligibility letter, you MUST register with VCE to schedule your exam location and date.  The contact information will be given to you.  Once you register, you will receive a confirmation letter from VCE stating your exam date, location, and time.

4.  On the exam day, bring your eligibility letter along with one form of valid photographic id (driver's license, military id, etc.) to be admitted to the exam.

5.  The computerized exam will begin with a tutorial, and proctors are available to answer questions.

6.  Once you finish the exam, your results are immediately displayed to you.  If you pass, DPOR will send your license in approximately 10 business days.  If you do not pass, re-examination information will be sent to you.
